Hunslet Club 1 Otley Town 2

OTLEY Town recorded another fine West Yorkshire League Premier Division away victory on Saturday.

The home side were quickly into their aggressive stride, and tried to hustle Town out of any passing rhythm.

To some extent they succeeded in this, and took the lead when slack marking allowed a Hunslet player a free header from a cross.

The remainder of the first half was scrappy, enlivened only by a Town equaliser, a beautiful strike from 20 yards from James Evison which left the goalkeeper clutching thin air.

Buoyed by this, Otley were the better team in the second half, although without creating any particularly good chances until Scott Cater fired a daisy cutter into the bottom corner with only a few minutes to play.

Despite the referee adding on a considerable amount of stoppage time, Town saw the game out fairly comfortably to secure three points.

With no game this week, Town will look to finish the season on a high with their last fixture which is at home to Leeds City on May 9 (2.30).

It is possible that Leeds City might still be in with a chance of winning the league when this match takes place, so that should certainly add an edge to the contest.
