GOLDEN girl Debbie Flood is set to make her return to the international rowing arena.

She has been selected in the the Great Britain team for the World Cup meeting in Bled, Slovenia on May 28-30.

Flood, who won Olympic gold in the women’s quadruple sculls in 2004 and silver four years later, returns after taking a one-year break from the sport.

The Guiseley rower spent 2009 concentrating on her career with the probation service after completing her university degree.

She will return to international action in the single sculls.

The 30-year-old will be looking for the kind of performance that has made her one of the country’s most distinguished women rowers.

A third Olympic games and another medal in London 2012 is a tempting incentive for the comeback star.
