OLD Otliensians’ opponents Richmondshire earned great credit from the home team and faithful after travelling 50 miles to Otley to play ‘Ensians despite their crushing defeat only three weeks before.

Despite their resilient efforts, the visitors were up against it from kick off, and were taking on a relentless home team who are oozing with confidence.

In all 'Ensians scored 19 tries ,16 of which were converted by Jake Bentley.

The try scorers for the afternoon were Josh Howarth (2), Luke Cowdell (3), Alex Gillson, Spencer Wood, Jay Walsh (2), Jack De'Ath, Harry Wales and Noel Gillson.

The remaining seven tries were scored by Will Howarth creating a club record for tries scored in a game and at the same time breaking the club's all-time record for a season with 40 tries .

The visitors’ only score was a penalty try in the first half following an indiscretion by the home team when Richmondshire were moving a rolling maul forward just short of the home try line.

Yes, it was a tough day for Richmondshire but their team spirit and attitude earned the full respect of all the home team and supporters and they could return to Richmond with their heads held high.
