He then trained with Rochdale’s squad before featuring as a trialist in friendlies at Chorley and Tranmere Rovers where he earned a one year contract with the National League side after impressing.

Afuye has made eight league appearances for Rochdale so far this season and the Spotland based side saw off strong competition from EFL clubs in the North West to secure his signature.

He is described as an exciting prospect who plays exciting football using skill to score various types of goals.

The new loanee was born in Ireland before moving to the North West aged 12 and helped Avro to back to back promotions and was their top scorer last season.
