OTLEY'S prolific marathon runner Rosemarie Utley has entered the 2023 Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon, 14 May.

She has already completed the Leeds full marathon seventeen times over the course of her long marathon running career, a small portion of the 120 marathons she's completed in total. Utley's career has seen her travel around the world, with races coming in Sydney, Paris, New York, Athens, Carpi, Berlin, Amsterdam, Brussels, Malta, Cyprus, Venice, Dublin, and the Great Wall Marathon in China; plus, lots of marathons all over the UK.

After seeing the publicity for Rob Burrow and the MND charity, plus being inspired by the efforts of Kevin Sinfield, she felt the need to enter this year’s Leeds marathon. Rosemarie will be running alongside her daughter Sandie Utley, another experienced marathon runner – she was the first lady to complete the double marathon on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day this year in Liverpool.

Utley is a member of the exclusive 100 Marathon Club and can often be seen running in and around Otley as part of her training programme.
