OTLEY Town ultimately came out on top in this local derby, but it wasn’t until they registered their third goal in the 75th minute that they could breathe a sigh of relief and be sure of the three points which maintains their fourth position in the league.
Otley started the game well and deservedly took the lead on seventeen minutes when Rick Parry was just too strong for the Ilkley rearguard. He aerially attacked the right flank corner and though his header was kept out, he bundled the ball home at the second attempt. Otley maintained their superiority and doubled their lead on twenty nine minutes via a fine individual goal from Connor Wilson, firing home from a tight angle.
Ilkley started brightly in the second half, and they were rewarded on fifty-six minutes when Eric Sallu took advantage of some disarray in the Otley defence and scored from close range.
But McGee swept home Otley's third to kill the game off, connecting with substitute Ben Wade's cross.
