MAYBE it was the build up of pressure surrounding the third meeting within the last six weeks between these two sides, but for sure this was an extremely scrappy game, which neither side deserved to win.
Otley were the better side in the first half but had only one goal to show for it - a cracker from Jack Richmond mid way through. Despite the possession and chances, Town could not get the second and decisive goal.
Pool improved in the second half but for all their territorial advantage could not breach the Otley defence - until that is - the 89th minute of the game when Harry Norris equalised with an unstoppable volley from the edge of the box to earn a draw for the home side. No blame on the Otley defence here just a very good goal. Overall, a draw was probably the fair result.
Town host fellow promotion-chasers Oxenhope Recreation on Saturday looking to move up the league table, while the Reserves go to Aberford Albion and the Thirds travel to Barlick Wanderers and Fourths host Rolls.
