Yorkshire Division Two: West Park Leeds 21 Old Rishworthians 43

PROMOTION-chasing Old Rishworthians went 7-0 ahead in the seventh minute with a try on the left after a line-out on the right, and kept up their point a minute tally with a try in the 12th minute.

However, the hosts responded with good forward play from Leon Blakey and Will Sayer, inside centre James Ralston getting the try for Joe Shakespeare to convert.

But by half-time Rish had added two more converted tries to lead 26-7, with West Park's only response being a penalty miss by Shakespeare.

Two quick tries in the second half extended the Halifax visitors' lead to 38-7 but replacements Saul Livesey, Adrian Hargreaves and Tom Dickinson pepped up the hosts.

Eddie Crossland's grubber kick forced a close-in line-out from which Dan Nota caught the ball and bagged a try, Shakespeare converting.

A charged-down clearance kick then gave Rish another try but West Park had the last word, with prop Johnny Clark burrowing over from close range and Shakespeare drop-kicking the conversion.

However, the visitors gave them no opportunity to score a fourth try to earn a bonus point.
