Sherburn White Rose 1 Pool 6

STRIKER Tom Fleming hit a hat-trick as Pool recorded an impressive win over second-placed Sherburn in the West Yorkshire League Premier Division.

Pool mastered the tricky weather conditions better than their rivals and took their chances when they came along.

Sherburn had the best of the opening exchanges, but Pool soon began to stamp their authority on the match and went ahead with a superb finish from Scott Cater.

They continued to press forward, and were rewarded when a move through the middle culminated in another fine finish, this time from Fleming.

A similar move was crowned with a perfectly-placed shot from Nick Hewitt, Pool had the game in their grasp.

Fleming then added a fourth before Sherburn pulled a goal back from the penalty spot, which was no more than they deserved.

Pool were not going to let Sherburn off the hook though, continuing to work hard as the pitch got heavier.

A couple of good saves from Andy Doey in the Pool goal, and some fine defending snuffed out any chance of a comeback, before Tom Smith sand Fleming rounded off the scoring.
