West Yorkshire League Premier Division: Pool 3 Beeston St Anthony's 4
POOL'S first home match of the season was against the league champions, and was a cracker, with the hosts matching them in every department.
The home side took the lead via a superb shot into the top corner from Nick Hewitt and, although Beeston cancelled that out with a long free-kick that avoided everyone, Pool skipper Temilada Ajimoko finished calmly from a corner to give them a 2-1 half-time lead.
Beeston came out fighting in the second half, scoring twice, although in between times Hewitt hit a post for Pool.
The hosts continued to play some good football and were rewarded when Josh Waite's perfect cross was met at the far post by Grant Bligh, who equalised.
However, Pool's hearts were broken when Beeston grabbed a controversial winner, the hosts being left frustrated that the referee had not stopped play for an offside decision.

THE reserves opened their league campaign with a heavy defeat at local rivals, the ever reliable Mitchell Lambert-Tuthill scoring Pool's consolation.
