TOM Adams produced another top performance to win the Bradford 10k on Sunday.
Just a week after helping Great Britain's men to take a bronze medal in the World Mountain Running Championships Betws-y-Coed in Wales, the Ilkley Harriers runner was leading the field home in West Yorkshire.
Adams clocked a time of 31min 28sec, beating previous winner and course record-holder, Tesfaye Debele (Leeds City) by almost a minute.
Thirteen runners broke 35 minutes on a dank morning. Hannah Oldroyd was first lady in 36:33, just outside her lifetime best. Ilkley’s Jane McCarthy was second, with a large personal best in 38:40 and was the first F40 finisher.
A number of other Harriers returned fine performances too. Ben Joynson 40.13, Michael Duffield 40:49 , Harry Sime 44:03, Will Worboys 43:37 and Michelle Snow 57:52 all ran well.
Much further afield, Dick and Helen Waddington completed the Berlin Marathon where Dick returned a time of 3:00:43 and Helen in 4.12.00. It was a tremendous effort from Dick in his first marathon
On the fells, John and Daniel Hayes travelled to North Wales for the two-day Rab Mountain Marathon and were 39th out of 174 in the short score, picking up the prize for coming first in the parent and child category.
Tom Worboys returned a time of 20:28 in the Bradford Lister Park, while Julie Eames clocked 26:14 at Harrogate Stray, Alex Hirst had a time of 17:41 at Hilly Fields, Lewisham and junior Oscar Stapleton ran 19:19 at Skipton's Aireville Park.
