WEST Yorkshire League Division One leaders Pool got back to winning ways in a tight encounter with local rivals Old Modernians.
Pool had the edge in the first half and the only goal came from young Harvey Atkinson. He won a challenge with the advancing keeper before slotting the ball home.
Tom Flemming extended Pool’s lead when a fine piece of control and perfectly-placed shot produced a second goal.
Modernians reduced the deficit before half-time from an own goal.
The second half was an entertaining affair, with first the visitors, then Pool having periods on top.
It was the hosts who eventually took the upper hand when Atkinson scored his second goal.
Pool now looked comfortable, but Old Modernians had other ideas. A well-worked late goal from James Lee gave the home side anxious moments before the three points were secured.
