It just had to happen! Another brace of Lampkins surfaced on the trials scene on Saturday afternoon at the Yeadon-Guiseley club’s novice and beginner’s trial at Dob Park. and they look like chips off the old block.
Not only did Alfie, eight, and Fraiser Lampkin, five, compete in their very first trial but the boys also made the awards riding Beta machines.
Fraiser, five, really, did press on through the sections Scott Trial style. It was reminiscent of his famous father Dougie who kept a close eye on his youngest son’s progress.
Fraiser made short work of Oset-mounted riders Poppy Fletcher and Reuben Johnson. Dougie oversaw the lines of Alfie while grandad Martin really got the best out of Alfie.
At least the 11 small wheelers listened and learned from the two world champions.
On the novice and beginners course in the lower areas of the dense wood, Bradford’s Class C star Joe Faunthorpe was getting in some serious riding in readiness for the last two events in the Luscombe Suzuki Leeds national youth championship series. d to happen!
