Yeadon’s chances of winning promotion from Division Two have suffered a setback.

They were beaten by six-wickets when they visited table-topping Farsley on Saturday.

Yeadon were looking to continue the impressive run which had seen them beat fellow promotion chasers Spen Victoria and New Farnley, but they were out of sorts.

Their batting faltered as they were bowled out for 120 as Australian James Pearson took 4-43.

Only Altaf Mohammed (37no) made an impression.

The Yeadon bowlers had too few runs to play with and Farsley eased to their target with former Yeadon batsman Ian Philliskirk finishing unbeaten on 38.

With New Farnley and Spen Victoria both gaining 20-point wins, Yeadon have dropped to fourth place.

Yeadon are now 14 points behind Spen Victoria and 22 adrift of New Farnley with just five games to play.

They have a chance to try and claw back some of the lost ground on Saturday against a Windhill side that has struggled of late.

Yeadon’s second team caused an upset on Saturday when they beat Morley by 80 runs to inflict only their second defeat of the season.
