A YOUNG singer from Otley is celebrating success in a major talent contest.
Fifteen year old Emeli Mumford won joint second place in the 2017 Breeze Has Talent competition.
The Prince Henry's Grammar School student found out how she had fared when the event's finals were staged at the Carriageworks, Leeds on Sunday, October 29.
She has received hundreds of pounds worth of prizes towards further developing her skills and will also get to sing at a Christmas lights switch-on ceremony in Leeds.
A fan of musical theatre and a songwriter, Emeli sang one of her own numbers, Rippling Waters, at the finals which followed a round of heats earlier this year.
The teenager has also just completed a short run at West Yorkshire Playhouse performing in Rebecca Manley's Zoetrope.
Featuring a dynamic cast of more than 20 young people, the play explores young people's mental health and the effectiveness of the services that are meant to help.
