BRAMHOPE is preparing to welcome residents and visitors to its 2017 Show.

This year's event takes place at the Robert Craven Memorial Hall on Sunday, September 10 and looks set to be another fun-packed day.

As always, the show will feature display entries in all kinds of classes including flower arranging, fruit and vegetables, homemade produce, baking, photography, art, needlecraft, handicraft and woodwork.

There will also be Junior classes in everything from painted pebbles and creative Lego models to vegetable animals and mini-gardens.

Other attractions will include a children's fancy dress parade, at 1.45pm, a host of games and stalls and, at 2.15pm the children's pet show.

In their programme foreword Bramhope Village Show Committee Chair Kimberley Hill and Ewart Lewis, Chair of the Robert Craven Management Committee, anticipate a great day out for all the family.

They said: "Let’s bring on the show.

"We would encourage all of you to enter one or more of our classes. If you have never entered, give it a go - you never know your entry could be in the prizes!

"Refreshments will be available throughout the afternoon, including afternoon teas and, outside in the Food Court a barbecue, ice cream, bar, cocktails, soft drinks and sweets plus our very popular, homemade cake stall.

"In the Fun Court you will find the tombola, beat the goalie, crazy golf, children’s stalls, face painting and the Fancy Dress Parade at 1.45pm, followed by our popular Pet Show plus many other side stalls.

"Entertainment includes live music from Recycled and children’s entertainer Partymania.

"This year’s programme front cover was chosen from designs created by the children of Bramhope Primary School and we thank them all for their colourful entries.

"The children also made scarecrows, which you will find around the show ground - absolutely, fantastic displays."

They added: "A big thank you to our new manager, Peter Wright, for his hard work and support in helping with the arrangements and set-up for the show this year.

"We would like to thank all our local businesses, our generous sponsors, cake bakers and all those people who volunteer their time to make the show a success.

"Whatever the weather on the day, we hope you will join us with your family and friends, the more the merrier, and make this another successful show and enjoy a great afternoon out."

Running from 1.30pm to 4.30pm, admission to the show costs £2 or £1 for Under 16s or senior citizens.
