RESIDENTS' views are being sought over proposals to turn much of Bramhope into a 20mph zone.

Leeds City Council is considering introducing the lower speed limit on many of the village's residential streets as part of a city-wide push.

Roads that would be included in the 20mph area include:

*The Birches, The Rowans, The Cedars and The Poplars

*Tredgold Crescent and Avenue and Wynmore Crescent and Avenue

*Long Meadows, Breary Lane and Eastgate

*Church Hill and Manor Close.

The scheme would also see 20mph signs going up at the entrance to the zone and a number of flat-topped road humps installed - one on Moor Road, approaching The Cross, and three on Breary Lane.

The project is still at an early stage but the city council has begun consulting with Bramhope and Carlton Parish Council, ward members, Metro and the emergency services.

Councillor Barry Anderson (Con, Adel & Wharfedale) is asking residents to let him know their thoughts by sending an e-mails to Barry. Anderson@leeds.gov..uk .
