TWO national charities asked for their logos to be removed from a document produced by the local Liberal Democrat candidate.
Greg Mulholland consulted with several groups, including the Campaign to Protect Rural England (CPRE) and the National Trust, while producing his ‘manifesto for planning reform’.
But a strapline at the start of the document thanking the participating organisations, which featured their logos, led to a complaint being lodged by a local National Trust member.
Mr Mulholland, however, has pointed out that the, now altered, document was actually cross-party (Lib Dem and Conservative MPs were involved) and was published on March 28, two days before Parliament was dissolved.
Ward (Wharfedale & Airedale Review Development), a not-for-profit organisation, were also involved. Chairman David Ingham said: “The manifesto was clearly cross-party right from the very start, so we were happy to put our name to it.”
