DOUBLE yellow lines are under consultation for Grove Road in Ilkley, where a car was written off in a collision less than a fortnight ago.
A resident raised concerns about the double parking in the area, following the collision between a taxi and a parked car on Saturday, November 15.
Now it has emerged a Bradford Council traffic regulation order has been out to first stage consultation, and residents living nearby are expected to receive details of the second stage of consultation shortly.
In a message to Ilkley ward councillors, Sue Gledhill of Keighley area co-ordinator’s office said it was a coincidence the consultation was taking place in the immediate aftermath of the accident.
Wardens will be able to enforce double yellow lines once established.
Officers have also ordered ‘Pavements are for People’ leaflets for distribution, to help with parking problems, and the council plans to work with police in parking problem hotspots.
