Repairs to a deteriorating road drain in Pool-in-Wharfedale could be carried out during the Christmas holidays.
Leeds City Council accept that the drain in question, on Main Street opposite the car dealership, has subsided – although it insists it has been that way for some time and is safe.
Highways officers have now told Councillor Barry Anderson (Con, Adel and Wharfedale), however, that they hope to carry out rebuilding work either on a forthcoming Sunday or over the festive break.
The council also hopes to be able to clean and unblock as many of the village’s other drains as possible at the same time.
