Younger schoolchildren have been showing off their sporting skills in Otley.
Groups of Year 3 pupils from local primary schools gathered at Prince Henry's Grammar School to take part in everything from balancing bean bags to hurdling.
The fun tournament was organised by primary sports co-ordinator for PE and Sport at Prince Henry's, Ryan Davies, who teaches children from Year 1 to 13 across the Otley Family of Schools – which includes Bramhope and Pool-in-Wharfedale.
The young visitors were helped by Year 10 and 11 sports prefects and sports leaders at the secondary school.
PE and Sport faculty leader Sarah Grant said: “This event is the culmination of a six-week programme of work in which the primary school children have been taking part.
“As well as providing a focal point for the work the children have done, this kind of event is very important for our students.
“One of the major strands of PE at Prince Henry’s is developing coaching and leadership skills and this sort of event is ideal for our students to work on these skills.
“This is also another example of the benefits of partnership working between the schools.”
Mr Davies’s role is a new one, part-funded by Prince Henry’s and partly by the primary schools, using Government funding.
