POSTERS designed to make dog-owners think twice about their pets’ waste are going up in Otley this week.

The muck: up! campaign got local schoolchildren to create posters aimed at persuading owners to clean up after their animals earlier this year.

Now, in anticipation of dog fouling increasing with the onset of darker nights and colder weather, when campaigners say the problem usually gets worse, the group is starting to put up the three winning designs across town.

Otley resident Sara Quinn, who founded muck: up! last year after becoming increasingly concerned about the amount of dog waste on the town’s streets, hopes the posters will encourage owners to behave responsibly.
