A second retro and classic car meet will take place at the Emmott Arms pub in Rawdon later this month –just weeks after the first event of its kind proved a hit.

Organiser and pub manager Dave Thompson says even though the turnout to the first event was low it nevertheless proved successful – and now he is urging other vintage car enthusiasts to attend.

He said: “I am organising a second retro and classic car meet at the Emmott Arms public house here in Rawdon on Sunday October 25, and it starts at noon.

“Last month about a dozen classic and retro cars turned up for the very first event.

“This was a success despite the low turnout.

“It was not advertised and was done by word and mouth. At the next meeting it is hoped that more owners of old classics will attend.

“It is free to enter and anyone who owns an old classic car or pre-1990 car then you are invited to bring it along and put it on display.

“A prize will be awarded to the best car of the month.

He added: “Although having a large car park we can only allocate so much space so if you wish to come along and show your car then please reserve a space.”
