One of the stalwarts of Otley and District talking newspaper for the blind and partially sighted has received a special accolade.
Stella Murdock, 79, has been awarded the Rotary Club of Otley Chevin’s Service Recognition Award in acknowledge-ment of her special service to the community of Otley.
The presentation took place at the Chevin Country Park Hotel this week.
Stella has for some 25 years helped to run the talking newspaper.
She said she would like to thank over 50 readers, prod-ucers, technical people and partially sighted listeners on the committee, as well as countless supporters of all kinds, and gave a special thanks to Joan Tucker who has been there almost as long as she has.
Stella has also been a long-time supporter of Otley Sailing Club, being commodore for a couple of years.
