Former pupils of an Otley secondary school are hoping to take a walk down memory lane by organising a class reunion.

Pupils who left Otley Secondary Modern School in the year of 1964 are being sought to relive old memories at an event due to be held in September.

The class last met ten years ago at a party organised by Otley woman Jean Bailey.

Such was its success, that local councillor Ian Jackson, himself a pupil of that year, is hoping to organise another reunion with his old classmates who will now be in their 60s.

He said: “It will be terrific to meet up again and connect with old friends like we did ten years ago.

“We want former pupils to pop along, enjoy a drink, chat and a dance and music from the 1960s.

“We are encouraging people to bring along their old school photos and are appealing for teachers as well as pupils to turn up. There will be catering supplied and people can wear what they want. We are just interested in meeting up and reliving old memories.”

The date for the reunion has been set for Saturday, September 19.
