THE second concert in the Bolton Priory 2024 season on Saturday, May 11 at 7.30pm features Skipton Choral Society in their Summer Concert.
The programme includes Purcell’s Funeral Music for Queen Mary, Brahms’ Geistliches Lied, Rutter’s Winchester Te Deum, Chilcott’s Gloria and Parry’s Blest Pair of Sirens featuring choir, brass quintet and organ. The concert will be conducted by the Society’s Musical Director, Robert Webb.
Skipton Choral Society is a mixed choir of around 60 singers. They perform a wide range of types of music, mainly traditional but also some more innovative pieces. The choir has been running since 2013 and whilst it is based in Skipton, membership comes from many of the surrounding towns and villages Do come and support a local choral society and celebrate the summer with them.
Tickets for the concert at the Priory Church, Bolton Abbey, BD23 6AL are £15 which include a free glass of wine or a soft drink.
