OVER the weekend Ilkley Swimming Club took a 20 strong team to the Harrogate Spa Town Gala, with athletes ranging from age 8-23 competing.
In a great event, incredibly well run by Harrogate and District Swimming Club, Ilkley swimmers came away with 13 Golds, 21 Silvers and 13 Bronze medals across all age groups.
John Pegington, one of the team managers from the club said: "It was a great event and the coaches and team managers are very proud of all of the swimmers who competed.
"Just getting on the starting blocks is a huge achievement in itself for some of our swimmers that should be celebrated. On top of that there were many personal bests and medals over the course of the weekend and it really was a great success for all taking part."
