Year 11 students at Horsforth School are thrilled to be tearing open their results envelopes as it reveals yet another year of outstanding results.
Over two thirds (69 per cent) of all grades awarded were a strong pass (a 5) or above which is significantly higher than the national average.
Dr. Paul Bell, the school’s Headteacher said: “Knowing that the grading of this year’s GCSEs has gone back to pre-pandemic levels, I honestly couldn’t be happier today. Our results are significantly higher than 2019 and over a third of all grades were a grade 7 (the old A) or better.”
The school’s individual standout successes for students with bright futures include Millie, Libby, Lilia, Matilda, Harry, Laraib, Abdullah and Magnus.
Paul added: “We are immensely proud of our Year 11 students who have shown resilience, determination and have made amazing progress during the disruption of the pandemic. I look forward to welcoming many of them to the Sixth Form at Horsforth in September. Our sixth form achieved outstanding results last week where 36 percent of students achievied A* and A grades and 68 per cent achieved A* to B, so I know they will be just fine.”
The Sixth Form at Horsforth offers students everything they need to succeed. Last September saw the opening of the new campus, and along with fantastic results, the sixth form offers over 90 enrichment activities including debating, photography, golf and even international exchanges.
The new campus has increased the sixth form’s capacity and has enabled it to offer places to more students from across the city.
