WITH advance bookings of over 1,000 families Aireborough Rotary’s return to Rodley Nature Reserve after a break of two years kept all three partners in the venture well satisfied.

The organising of a watchman to superintend the new bridge throughout the day ensured a steady flow of traffic. All the parents and children who completed the circuit by collecting their tokens enjoyed seeing what the reserve had to offer before selecting their fruit or biscuits at the finish. The tombola, thanks to donations from all quarters had a record 288 Easter eggs to be won with special thanks going to members, friends and the generous champions at Morrisons Guiseley, Horsforth and Yeadon and Audi Bradford.

The opportunity was also taken to showcase an Aquabox for which Aireborough Rotary is an ambassadorial club. The Aquabox has amazing filters for families and communities converting dirty water into drinkable, life saving liquid. Seventeen shipments of filters and additional humanitarian aid have been sent in the past twelve months to the Ukraine, Pakistan, Yemen, Nepal and Puerto Rico.

The charities supported by Aireborough Rotary, Aireborough Inner Wheel and Rodley Nature Reserve itself, who together raised in excess of £2,000 on the day.
