HIGH-FLYING Ilkley Town saw their North West Counties Football League First Division North title hopes take a major hit last night.
The Baht'atters have been superb this season, and in only their second campaign since making the move up to semi-professional football from the grassroots West Yorkshire League, are making a real promotion push.
A win last night at Holker Old Boys would have moved them just three points behind Pilkington, who they beat 3-2 last week, albeit having played a game more.
But Holker are a strong outfit, and they moved into fifth, the final play-off spot in the division, by beating Ilkley 1-0.
Ilkley played well against their promotion rivals, but Holker scored with their only real chance of the second half with 20 minutes to go.
Sam Joel made a smart run to the back post, and there was there to turn home the drilled cross that came his way.
Ilkley thought they had snatched a point in injury-time, but instead their goal was ruled out for offside.
