WHILST attending the Bill Huntley Memorial Peace Seminar on October 29 Aireborough Rotary Club’s past president Raj Mani had the idea of inviting the seven new Class 21 Rotary Peace Fellows at Bradford University to the club’s annual Christmas Party.

It gave members and friends the chance to celebrate three successful fundraising Christmas lights switch-ons within Yeadon, Guiseley and Rawdon. It provided the opportunity for the 50 individuals present to learn about the background of those making up this enterprising team. The Peace Fellows for their part heard Andrew Wilson describe the reasons why the Aireborough Club was rewarding long serving member Barrie Oldam with a Paul Harris Fellowship.

Finally it gave all present the fun of dancing the evening away to the entertainment of Melody and her enterprising choir with David Farnell selected as dancer of the evening partnered by Sally Mohan.

President John Kitching, in thanking all for attending, looked forward to a follow-up visit from the enthusiastic seven. For all of them it was a difficult Christmas away from home.
