THE winners of the Otley Snowman Trail have been revealed.
The snow people, in all shapes and sizes, visited Otley for their annual Otley Snowman Trail during December.
The trail proved popular again this year with people picking up a free trail map and using it to make their way around the town to discover the various snowmen hidden away in shops and voting for their favourites.
They brightened up what was a dull period weather wise and brought much joy and happiness to the businesses in Otley and helped to create a wonderful Christmas feel to the town.
The event is organised by Otley Town Councillor Nigel Francis with his son Callum, and they said with almost 100 shops, offices and businesses taking part in 2022, it was a very hard competition to judge.
In fact, in one case, it came down to the online entries just tipping the winner by one vote!
βIt has been a tremendous success and many people have commented on everything from the decorating of the old red phone box in the Market Square to the special Christmas booklet which we put out this year," said Councillor Nigel Francis.
"Much of the last minute work was carried out between Callum in England and me in Bulgaria. In the end it worked out, but then I damaged a leg muscle, cutting down trees in Bulgaria, which resulted in a slight delay in getting out the booklets, when I got back to England.
"Then right at the end I was struck down with this cold, sickness bug which was doing the rounds and we just managed to award the prizes, before I had to take to my bed, for Christmas!β
