BUSES had to be diverted past Menston yesterday after high winds blew a fence down on a road.
Severe gusts of wind on Thursday morning blew down fencing at the junction of Station Road and Bradford Road, blocking one of the main bus routes into and out of the village.
Bus operator First diverted eight services which normally serve bus stops within Menston village along the A65. The services affected were the 33, 33A, 650, 652, 654, 963 and 966.
The blockage was reported at 9.05am, but it is believed a repaired section of the fence again blew down, and bus service disruptions continued continued through the afternoon. First says it will resume its normal route at the earliest opportunity.
