A MAN has died following a five-car crash near Leathley.
The accident happened at about 8.30am on Wednesday, April 5 on the B6161 Leathley Lane.
Yorkshire Ambulance Service sent two ambulances, a rapid response vehicle, a Hazardous Area Response Team, a Yorkshire Air Ambulance and a doctor to the scene.
They took two people to Leeds General Hospital by ambulance and treated another two who did not need hospital treatment.
One man died following the crash. North Yorkshire Police say they have informed his next of kin.
A woman involved in the collision suffered chest and back injuries.
Leathley Lane was closed from its junctions with Farnley Park and the A658 Pool-in-Wharfedale to Harrogate road for several hours to allow emergency crews to respond and an initial crash investigation to take place.
