PEOPLE are invited to come along to a second public drop-in session about proposed changes to the prescribing of gluten-free foods for people with coeliac disease.

NHS Airedale, Wharfedale and Craven Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) is asking for people’s help to decide the future of gluten-free food on prescription.

The next session tomorrow, Friday, February 10, runs from 12.15pm to 1.45pm at the Clarke Foley Centre, Cunliffe Rd, Ilkley, LS29 9DZ. Everyone is welcome to attend, whether they live with coeliac disease or not.

NHS Airedale, Wharfedale and Craven CCG, spends over £100,000 a year for approximately 580 patients. With an increasing demand for services, coupled with the financial challenges, the NHS is looking at all products and services provided to decide what to expand and what to reduce. Options include stopping prescriptions of gluten-free food.

People can share their views, up to March 31 by completing an online questionnaire at: www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/65HXF2X; emailing: engage@awcccg.nhs.uk or write to: NHS Airedale, Wharfedale and Craven Clinical Commissioning Group, Millennium Business Park, Station Road, Steeton, Keighley, BD20 6RB

The final drop in session is on Friday, March 3 at 10.15am to 11.45am at Skipton Town Hall, High Street, Skipton.
