A CHARITY which supports sick children is being helped by building society staff who have raised thousands of pounds.
Assistant managers from Leeds Building Society’s branches in and around the city joined forces to raise £3,864 for the Candlelighters.
The 13 fundraisers organised and took part in events including sky dives, sponsored walks, tombolas, raffles, cake sales and a guess the name of the bear competition.
The society fundraisers were joined at their head office by the charity’s corporate fundraiser.
Brian Curran from Candlelighters said: "We’re absolutely delighted to have the support of colleagues from Leeds Building Society.
"The events they’ve held raised a considerable amount of money to enable us to continue to support children with cancer and their families."
One of the assistant managers Chhaya Lilapurwala, said: "Everyone enjoyed taking part in the events whilst raising funds for a great cause. We’d like to thank colleagues and customers for their support and donations."
