A TWO-DAY music festival that was being lined up in Otley for the Bank Holiday weekend has been cancelled.
The 2016 BOOM Fest, building on the success of last year's one-day event, was due to take place on Sunday and Monday.
The BOOM committee had been working hard to get an eclectic line-up of musicians, performing on several stages.
But an announcement on the festival's Facebook page confirms it has been called off.
It says: "The BOOM committee is extremely disappointed to announce the cancellation of this year's event.
"A great deal of effort has been expended by a team of unpaid volunteers but, regrettably, an unexpected bureaucratic mix-up, coupled with a lack of sponsorship, makes cancellation the only sensible option.
"We will continue to meet and organise a bigger and better BOOM for 2017.
"We thank you all for your support and interest and we apologise to those who have been let down."
