BURLEY Scout and Guide Group has thanked supermarket chain Waitrose's Community Matters charity its donation of £328.
The organisation also thanked all those who put their green tokens in the box in the store.
The donation will go towards the new Burley-in-Wharfedale Scout and Guide headquarters. The group has raised in excess of £130,000 already – more than a quarter of the total amount required for the new building in Peel Place, Burley.
Burley Scout and Guide Group will be joining Burley Parish Council today to celebrate The Queen's 90th birthday. There will be singing and maypole dancing by Rainbows, Beavers, Brownies, Cubs, Guides, Scouts, Explorers and Rangers from 6.30pm in Grange Park.
A beacon will be lit at 7.15pm – one of more than 1,000 around the country in honour of Her Majesty.
