OTLEY Lions have thrown their weight behind an appeal to replace Otley Courthouse's ageing chairs.
The arts centre is trying to raise £8,000 to upgrade its ten-year-old performance seating.
The Lions have agreed to contribute £800 which, matched by £800 from the Courthouse, will allow about 50 new stackable and linkable chairs to be purchased under 'phase one' of the project.
The Courthouse is keen to replace all of its seating as quickly as possible to ensure it can keep comfortably staging its busy and varied programme of shows, workshops and community group meetings.
The appeal can be supported by making a donation via the venue's website at otleycourthouse.org.uk or by handing in a cheque at the front desk.
