SECRETARY of State for Justice and former Employment Minister, Chris Grayling, visited the Pudsey constituency this week to show his support for Conservative candidate Stuart Andrew.
He praised Mr Andrew, who is seeking re-election as the area’s MP, saying he was “not afraid to speak out where Pudsey matters”.
“He’s not afraid to vote against the Government when it’s in the interests of his constituents,” he added.
Mr Andrew said: “I am very grateful to Chris Grayling, who today came to support my campaigning work in Calverley.
“Chris joined me knocking on doors and speaking to voters, which helps to make a difference when this election is so close. The residents were very positive, and I am glad that Chris could assist me in putting my record across to the voters.”
Mr Grayling also joined Keighley Conservative candidate, Kris Hopkins, on the campaign trail in Addingham, where he spoke in support of the Conservatives’ economic policies, which he said have seen economic improvement.
Mr Grayling, who was was Minister of State at the Department for Work and Pensions from 2010 until the Cabinet reshuffle of 2012, said: “Things are getting better and this is not a time for a change in management.”
