A SCHOOL was awash with Christmas jumpers when 300 children and their teachers took part in a festive fundraiser.
Youngsters at Bronte House School, in Apperley Bridge, raised more than £1,300 for the Save the Children charity. All pupils and their teachers wore Christmas jumpers to school and paid £1 for the privilege.
Every child has also been involved in either a Nativity performance or the carol service and part of the total raised was donated by parents after each performance.
Schools across Wharfedale and Aireborough took part in Save the Children’s Christmas Jumper Day and so far the event has raised more than £1.4million for the independent charity. The charity works to improve the lives of children in 120 developing countries around the world.
