OTLEY Courthouse will open its doors to the New Year on Monday, January 5, when visitors will be able to enjoy warm drinks and snacks at the cafe.
A grisly but fascinating talk entitled Killed the Boar, Shaved his Head: the Violent Death of Richard III, should help shake off any lingering hangovers on Saturday, January 17.
Local European edged weapons expert Bob Woosnam Savage, one of a team who examined the skeleton of the monarch after it was unearthed in Leicester, will give an insight into his bloody end.
Tickets for the 7.30pm talk cost £8 or £6 in advance, or £9 or £7 on the door.
Acclaimed Canadian folk band Fish and Bird will bring some rousing musical entertainment to the venue on Wednesday, January 21.
The show starts at 8pm and tickets cost £10 or £8 in advance or £11 or £9 on the door. Looking ahead to the following month, an open mic and scratch night for 12 to 18 year olds will be staged on Friday, February 13.
