SOPRANO Alexandra Lowe returns to Rudding Park Hotel to perform in the Chapel for a special Christmas concert in support of Music in Hospitals on Sunday, December 21.

Alexandra is currently studying for her Bachelor of Music degree at the Royal Northern College of Music where she successfully achieved a scholarship.

She has won numerous song prizes throughout her studying to date – making her one of the most highly achieving students in her intake – the recent one being the Alexander Young Prize in November. It is not surprising that Alexandra has been identified as one of their most promising vocalists.

Her recent stage roles this year include Mabel (Pirates of Penzance), Angelina (Trial by Jury), Gianetta (The Gondoliers) and Sylvaine (The Merry Widow) all as part of the International Gilbert and Sullivan Festivals at Buxton Opera House and Harrogate Royal Hall.

In December she will be playing the role of Sylvaine in the RNCM’s production of The Merry Widow and in March 2015 the role of Helena in Britten’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

She will be joined at the Rudding Park concert by award-winning violinist Joy Becker from the Royal Northern College of Music, baritone Tom Isherwood (Baritone), mezzo soprano Chloe Latchmore, and tenor, Christian Lunn.

They will sing duets and solos with songs from the musicals, opera arias and Christmas carols. There will also be a duet from the head girl of Westville House School, Isabel Woodward, aged 10 and Evie Johnstone , aged 7 from Ghyll Royd School.

This is guaranteed to be an impressive evening by these young talented performers in Rudding Park’s Gothic revival chapel. The concert begins at 7pm. Tickets are £15, available from the Harrogate Tourist Office on 01423 537300.
