POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a scooter rider was seriously injured in an accident in the early hours of Saturday.
The man, who has not been named, was thrown from his scooter onto a grass verge after he hit a kerb on the Leeds Ring Road at Horsforth.
Police say the accident happened at about 1.30am when the blue Piaggio Vespa ET4 was being ridden from West Park along the Ring Road towards the roundabout junction with Low Lane.
The rider was taken to Leeds General Infirmary with serious, potentially life threatening injuries.
PC James Farrar, of the Eastern Area Safer Roads and Neighbourhood Support Team, said: “We would urge anyone who has witnessed the collision itself or seen the vehicle immediately prior to the collision to call the Eastern Area Safer Roads and Neighbourhood Support Team on 101.”
