Horsforth and Aireborough MP backs bid to prevent gas poisoning deaths
10:00am Monday 16th December 2013 in News
An MP is supporting a campaign to prevent people dying from carbon monoxide poisoning.
Stuart Andrew, the MP for Pudsey, Horsforth and Aireborough, is urging residents in his constituency to protect themselves from the threat.
Mr Andrew is supporting the Carbon Monoxide – Be Alarmed! campaign which encourages people to ensure they have an audible alarm and that they have all fuel-burning appliances serviced annually by a registered and qualified engineer.
He said: “Carbon monoxide is a deadly gas that you can’t see, smell or taste. Too many people are dying or suffering needlessly from carbon monoxide poisoning. That’s why I am urging every resident in Pudsey, Horsforth and Aireborough to make sure they and their loved ones are protected by installing an audible carbon monoxide alarm.”
