Singer aged six at Ilkley church's concert for street children

Northern Youth, The Choral Scholars and friends will join forces to perform at an annual concert in aid of street children.

Tenor James Griffett will direct the Concert for the Street Children at Ilkley Baptist Church, King’s Road, on Sunday, December 22.

Admission is free, but a retiring collection will take place in aid of children’s charities in Haiti, India and Romania.

The youngest singer at the performance will be six years old, while older participants are former pupils of Mr Griffett.

Aside from the music, one of the most moving parts of the performance will be a speech from part of Unicef’s Declaration on the Rights of the Child.

The concert begins at 3.30pm.
