Residents of Burley-in-Wharfe-dale and Menston are taking to the polls today to select a new Bradford District Councillor.
The by-election follows the recent resignation of Conser-vative Councillor Matt Palmer, who was first elected to the council in 2003 but is moving to Jersey with his family.
Five candidates are in the running for the seat, including Samuel Howard Fletcher (UKIP), David Russell Green (Labour), Paul James Treadwell (Liberal Democrat), Janet Souyave (Green) and Jackie Whiteley (Conservative).
The by-election has been timed to coincide with the police and crime commissioner elections. The result is expected to be released later this evening after the count, which is due to start at 10pm.
