Northern Rail works hard to inform public

In response to Kathy Best’s letter (‘We need toilets at station, not a cafe, March 8) regarding the proposed change of use at Ilkley Railway Station.

I’d like to reassure Ms Best we have had no input into the change of use of the former ticket office, as Northern Rail is not the landlord of this property. We no longer lease this area from a private company and, as such, were not made aware of any application of change. We are more than mindful of the importance of our rural stations and services to our passengers and their communities and work hard to keep our customers informed of any developments.
