TWO sisters from Otley will both be 'treading the boards' this summer - in shows at different ends of the country.

Hannah and Molly Collins, aged 14 and 12 respectively, have each secured places in prestigious Youth Music Theatre (YMT) performances after successfully auditioning in February.

Hannah is set to perform in Maelstrom - Legends of the Underworld in August as part of the International Youth Festival at Aberdeen's Lemon Tree Theatre.

Molly, meanwhile, will appear in The Legend of White Bear Lake at The Plymouth Barbican, Plymouth, also in August.

Performance Drama School Director Susan Hughes said: "It’s a huge achievement for anyone to be awarded a place on these prestigious programmes, but for two girls from the same family to secure places on separate schemes is such a wonderful accomplishment.

"National auditions are held for only 250 places so both Hannah and Molly should feel extremely proud of themselves.

"All of the team at Performance are highly impressed, if not entirely surprised!"

The sisters have both received help with fees from Burley-in-Wharfedale based financial advisers Wilson Mitchell and Co, and from a YMT bursary.
