A HIT comedian from London who staged her debut solo standup show in 2012 is coming to Leeds' Carriageworks Theatre next week.

Luisa Omielan will perform "What Would Beyoncé Do?! The Book Tour", which will feature readings from her book and a live question and answer session.

She promises to show the audience that there is quite literally no situation in which Beyoncé can’t save the day.

What Would Beyoncé Do?! had a sell-out run at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2012, six sell-out runs in London and was named ‘one of the biggest stand-up hits of the decade’ by The Guardian.

It was quickly followed up by the equally successful Am I Right Ladies?!

During the tour, a moment of inspiration at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival Oxfam Gala introduced Omielan’s signature style of in-your-face honesty, mixed with physical comedy to millions on Facebook and YouTube.

She pulled down her trousers to show the audience her love of her lack of a ‘thigh gap’, a stunt which left little to the imagination!

In 2014 Omielan was invited to perform for ten nights as part of the Montreal Just for Laughs Festival.

Omielan’s autobiographical tale of hitting rock-bottom and finding redemption through the music and attitude of Beyoncé Knowles has turned her successful comedy show into a captivating read for anyone who needs a little humorous empowerment in their day.

Her Leeds performance is at 7.30pm on Tuesday July 19.

Tickets by themselves are £14.50, or £25 with a signed copy of Omielan's new book. Call 0113 376 0318 or visit carriageworkstheatre.org.uk to book.
